sixth day

For last day we had planned an exhibition of our photos from the day third. That day we were accompanied by Masza, an intern form Semper Avanti association, who documented our preparations for the exhibition.First we went to the town centre to hand out invitations to the exhibitions to the local citizens.
In the afternoon we focused on framing and hanging pictures in one of castle's beautiful chambers. We had some work with preparing frames and arranging photos in groups of similar themes so they match. But we were happy with the final effect and everyone enjoyed seeing their pictures hanging on the walls :)
That was our last day together, so we spent the rest of the day packing and saying goodbyes. It was hard to believe a week has passed so quickly! We'll miss Oleśnica, the castle, and most of all - each other.

fifth day

The main topic for this day was: food. We were trying to focus mainly on cooking traditional dishes from each country, slow food and local products. At the morning Kasia - one of leaders from Poland prepared for us workshops. In groups we discussed slow food, GMO, organic farming, limits pf the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, food miles and why these issues are so important nowadays for health of soils, ecosystems and people. Our knowlege in this area was really various and that helpd us to learn more from each other. At the end each participant got eco-bag with logo of our exchange to use it instead of plastic bags.
For turn words into action after workshop we went together to the local market to buy fresh local fruit, vegetables, eggs ect. For our guest it was a great possibility to train polish language skills as well ;)
After groceries we could finally start doing mess in the kitchen :) Four teams from each country did their best to prepare some delicious food. We spent whole afternoon with pots and pans, and everyone was so excited about trying all these yummy things during the dinner.
Finally we did so many things that it was hard to find a place in the tables to put it there. We had pizza, baccalà al latte,  bruschette mix,  fresh egg pasta, tiramisu, pasta alla norma, pasta alla bottarga and baccalà alla vicentina from different parts of Italy, gazpacho, spanish omelette - tortilla de patatas and sangría from Spain, paprikás krumpli (potatoe with paprika) from Hungary, and gołąbki, leniwe, kapusta kiszona and babka marchewkowa from Poland. Celebrating this last dinner together was fantastic!

fourth day

Monday was another exhausting day for us. We got on an early train to Wrocław, and started sightseeing from the Centennial Hall and Pergola, and we kept moving in the direction of Nadodrze district. We made a few stops - at the Zwierzyniecki Bridge, University of Thechnology, National Museum and Ostrów Tumski, where our foreign guests could learn a little about the history of Wrocław.
After this long walk we stopped for some tea and at Łokietka 5, where Infopunkt Nadodrze is situated. Our friend Majka Zabokrzycka told us about different initiatives tooking place around Nadodrze, for example about a "Trail of dying professions". We also visited a shoemaker, who additionaly is a very tallented sculptor. He showed us lots of his works and prizes and shared some stories about his hobby.
After that we went to the city centre for pierogi and had some free time to enjoy Wrocław a little more.
In the afternoon we took a train to Pasikurowice for a ceramics workshop with Beata and Roman Szynol. We learned to use potter's wheel and it turned out to be much more difficult than in the movies ;) We also made some clay froms using a mould.
And once again we came back exhaused but with hands full of our handmade works and gifts.
